WATER CLIMBING OR PSICOBLOC
The modern world is characterized by rapid development. Sport is no exception! Currently, parasailing, ice half marathon, water climbing, which are combined sports, are gaining popularity. Let us dwell in more detail on the latter. It is also called Psicobloc. Translated literally, it means “psychological defense.” And there is a reasonable explanation for this. The organizers of the competition hoped that, overcoming the height and then making the jump from the top, the participants would be able to “turn off” the psychological defense of the person responsible for the feeling of fear.
It all started with the fact that athletes from the United States came to sunny Spain to relax before the competition. The island of Mallorca with its rocky shores and warm sea encouraged them to create a new sport called Psicobloc. The fact is that while climbing one of the coastal rocks, the climber broke and fell into the water. This was the basis of the rules of water climbing.
The modern regulation of this extreme entertainment involves quick and error-free climbing onto a structure with all kinds of grips and hooks, hanging at a certain angle above the water surface, and then jumping with the performance of various figures during the flight. The more difficult the acrobatic sketch and the less splash the jump will cause, the higher the score. At the same time, the pool should be at least 2 meters deep, otherwise there is a risk of getting an unwanted injury. And this is absolutely inappropriate for climbers preparing in this way for demonstration competitions.
Since 2011, the official competitions on the Psychoblock begin. From this moment they are held annually in America and Spain. In the USA, the relay stick for organizing the competition is transferred from state to state every year, and in Spain the venue remains unchanged and belongs to the city of Bilbao. The Psicobloc Masters Series competition data is called. Due to the large influx of people who want to try their hand, the championship is held separately for women and separately for men. It has become so popular, possibly also due to a good reward of twenty thousand dollars. In addition, Psicobloc contributes to the treatment of acrophobia, i.e. fear of heights. A person understands that there is water under him, and even if he slips, the maximum that can happen to him is that he will not come out of the water dry. In addition, this sport or entertainment, as you wish, contributes to the release of adrenaline, which is also very beneficial for the body.
Water climbing is now everywhere: in pools, fitness centers, resorts, water parks. The equipment for it is made of moisture-resistant materials (plastic, polycarbonate, laminated plywood) and is particularly mobile, so if necessary, for example, in the winter season or during rain, the climbing wall can be easily removed. There is no need for other additional equipment.
This sport is not only for adults. Children also with enthusiasm and with great enthusiasm conquer their first peaks, acquiring good skills in overcoming difficulties, dexterity, coordination of movements, motor skills. Even if the child does not manage to overcome the height the first time, he can safely jump into the pool, swim and begin to conquer the climbing wall with renewed vigor. For beginners “climbers” the height of the climb is naturally small, so parents can not worry about their child.
