Many people think that divers are fearless. This is a myth, because every person is afraid of something, and during diving you can meet a lot that could cause fear. This is the problem of any phobia – the unexpectedness of its manifestation. A sense of fear is common to all. Some of them can be called absolutely justified. An example is the fear of heights, a fall from which is tantamount to death. A phobia is an exaggeration of a particular danger. Divers have not spared this problem.
One of the problems that many divers face is the fear of sharks. This is a natural fear, since an unexpected encounter with animals with razor-sharp teeth is not a desirable sight.
